Privacy & Security

AVEX Pilot Studies (“AVEX”, “we”, “us”) provides aviation study notes and the AVEX mobile app. We operate from 57 Loper Avenue, Aeroport, Spartan Ext 2, Kempton Park, 1619, South Africa.

For privacy questions, email info@avexair.com or call +27 11 024 5373.

We collect only what the product needs:

• Account details — name, email, password or sign-in with Google, optional avatar, student number, and flight school.
• Purchases — titles, amounts, dates, and payment status so we can unlock books on this account.
• Study activity — reading progress and assessment results stored on the device and, when signed in, synced to your account.
• Device link — a one-time code or QR so the app and website share the same account.
• Support mail — whatever you send us when you ask for help.

• Create and secure your account.
• Process orders and grant access to purchased notes.
• Show your library, progress, and purchase history in the app and on the website.
• Send transactional mail — receipts, password reset, account deletion confirmations.
• Send product updates only if you leave email updates on in settings.
• Diagnose faults and keep the service running.

Access to your account is by email and password, or Google sign-in. Sessions use signed tokens. Device link codes expire and can be revoked from the website.

Payments run through PayFast. We do not store full card numbers on AVEX servers. Transport is HTTPS. Staff access to production data is limited to people who need it to run the store and support.

No method is perfect. If we become aware of a breach that affects you, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by South African law.

We do not sell personal information.

• PayFast — to take payment and confirm the order.
• Firebase / Google Cloud — hosting, authentication, and data storage for the app and store.
• Email delivery — to send the messages listed above.
• Regulators or courts — only when the law requires it.

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may ask to see, correct, or delete personal information we hold, or object to certain processing.

Edit your profile in the app or on the website. Delete the account from Settings — we email a confirm link first. After deletion, account data and access to purchased titles on that account are removed. Payment records we must keep for tax or banking rules stay for the required period.

To exercise a right, email info@avexair.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

The website stores a session token, theme preference, and cart contents on your device so you stay signed in and keep items in the bag. The app stores the same kind of session plus offline chapter cache and reading progress. You can clear the book cache in the app, or sign out to drop the session.

The store and app are aimed at student and professional pilots. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13. If you believe we have, email info@avexair.com and we will delete the account.

If this page changes in a way that matters, we update the date at the top. Continued use of the site or app after that date means you accept the revised notice.
